Kids Jiu-Jitsu Classes in Grande Prairie | Junior Champion Jiu-Jitsu Ages 6-11
Junior Champion Jiu-Jitsu (CJJ) at Champion Gym teaches ground grappling to children ages 6 to 11 in Grande Prairie using leverage, positioning, and technique — not size or strength. It is one of the most reliably confidence-building activities available to children because it puts them in difficult physical positions and teaches them to think their way out.
Coach Devon leads the program. Devon is a 7-year competitive wrestler and Alberta Provincial Champion who trained under Coach Mike Dunn of The ROC in Calgary — a 4-time Alberta Coach of the Year who has produced 30+ national champions.

Why Jiu-Jitsu for Kids
Jiu-jitsu is physical chess. Children who cannot brute-force their way through a position must think, try, fail, and try again. Parents consistently report improved school performance, better emotional regulation, and real self-confidence — the quiet, earned kind.
Is it safe?
Yes. No striking. Techniques are introduced progressively. The first skill taught is how to fall safely. All partner work is coach-supervised.
