Champion Gym ("the Gym") hereby grants membership to the undersigned individual ("the Member") upon signing for that membership. These memberships include;
- the first and last month's membership dues for adult memberships (i.e. Gold, Platinum, StrikeFit, etc.), whereupon membership fees shall be automatically withdrawn monthly. This membership entitles the Member to use Champion Gym facilities without being subject to a financial contract.
- Contract adult memberships (i.e. Gold+, Platinum+, StrikeFit+, etc.), whereupon it is agreed for a discounted annual amount divided into a 12-month payment commitment. These membership fees shall be automatically withdrawn monthly as agreed for the contractually discounted price.
- Multi-month package, non-refundable, non-contract memberships for youth 17 and under with parental permission.
- Individuals within private groups (i.e. schools), events (i.e. birthday parties, Excite Night, Parents Night Out, etc.) or camps (Adventure, Spring, Summer, Pro-D, Winter, Hockey, Fight Camps) participating in use of the Gym and/or training by Gym coaches or staff.
- Personal training by select Gym coaches allowed to use the Gym for their individual enterprise.
- Specialized discounted or no-charge membership members (i.e. for Parkinson's clients) at the discretion of the Gym.
This provision also applies to time-based memberships, including six-month, annual, day and multi-day pass memberships.
All monthly and package membership payments require a valid credit/debit card or bank account for automatic withdrawal to maintain access to membership rates. Regardless of structure, all memberships are subject to the Gym’s rules, regulations, and the Champion Code of Conduct outlined below.
In membership agreements, the Member acknowledges and agrees that the Gym may report, where applicable, any missed or defaulted payments to credit bureaus, which may negatively impact the member’s credit score. The Gym may also engage a registered collection agency to recover outstanding amounts. This applies to contract memberships and those who fail to cancel accordingly without notice and default on their agreed payment.
Camps & Academy Programs: For Champion Adventure Academy or Adventure Camps, including PD days, purchases are non-refundable once the camp is fully booked, in use, or within seven (7) days before the camp’s start date, whichever occurs first. Exceptions may be granted for documented medical reasons. Champion Gym reserves the right to cancel a membership, without compensation or refund, for violations of terms and conditions or the Code of Conduct. The Gym may consider postponing camp weeks upon submission of proper documentation and fulfilling required conditions. Camps and academies may be transferred in whole, provided all sign-up requirements, including age restrictions, are met.
Membership Cancellations & Freezes: After the initial term, a non-contract Member may terminate their membership with written notice at least thirty (30) days before their next scheduled payment. Written notice includes email communication or documentation clearly stating said termination, name, date, date of termination and a verifiable signature. Champion Gym reserves the right to cancel any membership for violations of Gym rules or regulations or at the discretion of management, without refund or compensation. Joining fees, membership packages, and dues are non-transferable outside the immediate family unit. The only option for early exit of a contract membership is to pay 50% of the remaining dues to be paid over the contract term. The only exception to this is for extenuating circumstances such as death, dismemberment, terminal illness, or similar.
The Gym does not freeze memberships for any exception outside of documented medical reasons (i.e. physician's note) that prevent the Member from participating in their Gym membership wholly or in part. In such a case, after an agreed time freeze of said membership, automatic withdrawals will resume. If an auto-withdrawal fails for any reason, Champion Gym reserves the right to cancel the membership, and the Member forfeits their last month's membership while being subject to collections where applicable. No refunds will be issued for failure to cancel, for verbal cancellation (in person or by phone), or for auto-withdrawal payments following a scheduled freeze.
Media Consent & Conduct: By signing this agreement, the Member acknowledges and agrees that they and/or their children may be photographed or filmed while attending Champion Gym activities, both on and off-site. The Gym and its affiliates are granted permission to use such images and footage for promotional, sales, publicity, and advertising purposes across all media, including the internet.
The Member also acknowledges that any skills, techniques, or training learned at Champion Gym will be used exclusively for legitimate sports or self-defense. No verbal agreements or representations outside this contract shall be binding. Failure to use the facility or attend a camp does not relieve the Member of payment obligations. Memberships are non-transferable.
Defamation & Public Statements:
The Member agrees that any reviews, comments, or public statements regarding Champion Gym, its staff, or its services must be honest, accurate, and fair. False, misleading, defamatory, or malicious statements that harm the reputation of the Gym, its staff, or its business operations may result in legal action. If such statements are posted publicly (including but not limited to Google Reviews, social media, or other online platforms), Champion Gym reserves the right to seek damages, pursue removal of such content, or take other legal steps as necessary.
If a Member has a concern, they agree to address it directly with Champion Gym before making any public statements to allow for resolution.
Personal Training & Attendance Policies: For personal training sessions directly through the Gym (excluding Gym coaches' personal training enterprise), a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours’ notice is required for cancellations. In cases of verifiable emergencies, exceptions may apply. No-shows and cancellations without adequate notice are subject to the full session fee. If a Member arrives late, the session will proceed within the remaining scheduled time at the discretion of the Gym coach, and full fees will apply. Non-payment of fees is subject to credit bureau reporting and/or collections.
Liability Waiver: The undersigned Member, on behalf of themselves, their family, heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby fully releases, discharges, and holds harmless 1544650 AB Ltd., operating as Champion Gym, its representatives, and agents from any illness, injury, loss, or damage to themselves, their children, or property arising from participation in activities at the Gym. This includes, but is not limited to, martial arts and sports such as StrikeFit, MMA, kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, Ninja Warrior, grappling, Krav Maga, gymnastics, Excite Night and Parents Night Out activities, as well as all Pro-D Day, Adventure, Fight, and Hockey Camps. This waiver extends to any activities conducted both indoors and outdoors. It applies even in cases where the Gym’s representatives or agents, the associated leaseholder, or the City of Grande Prairie may have contributed to or occasioned the incident through negligence.
